The key health advantages of cannabis includes managing anxiety disorders, reducing blood pressure, diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal disorders (GI), and defending against cancer.
FREMONT, CA: Cannabis is an ancient, multifaceted, and sometimes controversial plant. As a result of cannabis' versatility and usefulness, especially in the medical field, it has found its way into a range of industries and products. There are more than 120 compounds in cannabis known as cannabinoids. Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD) are the two most well-known and researched cannabinoids. The "high" associated with Cannabis is caused by THC, while CBD is a non-intoxicating, non-euphoric component that appears in oils, gummies, drinks, and other medical products.
The health benefits of CBD are as follows:
Inflammation reduction: Rockefeller Institute of Medical Research researchers found that CBD can reduce inflammation and neuropathic pain.
The treatment of anxiety disorders: Anxiety is probably the most common affliction for which people use CBD, and a preclinical study has shown that CBD is effective in treating anxiety disorders such as general anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Blood pressure reduction: CBD was found to lower blood pressure in a study by JCI Insight. In addition to reducing their resting blood pressure, it also reduced their blood pressure after mental arithmetic, isometric exercise, and a cold pressure test.
Keeping drug and alcohol addicts from relapsing: CBD may help people who suffer from drug and alcohol addiction, according to a 2018 study. Lab rats in a preclinical trial showed that CBD reduced stress-induced cravings, anxiety, and lack of impulse control, which often lead to relapse.
Seizure prevention: In recent studies, CBD has been shown to have positive effects in reducing symptoms and seizure frequency in epilepsy and other seizure syndromes.
"Rockefeller Institute of Medical Research researchers found that CBD can reduce inflammation and neuropathic pain."
Disorders of the gastrointestinal tract (GI): CBD and other non-psychoactive cannabinoids can effectively treat GI disorders, including irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), Crohn's, ulcerative colitis, and more. Inflammatory symptoms are reduced and prevented by CBD's anti-inflammatory properties.
Cancer prevention: Aside from alleviating the effects of chemotherapy, studies have also shown that CBD is capable of preventing cell growth and inducing cell death in cervical cancer cell lines. In addition to its anticancer effects, it can improve immunity, treat tumors, and prevent a variety of cancers.
Defend against neurological diseases: Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of CBD have been demonstrated in preclinical and clinical studies. These characteristics may provide significant neuroprotection or protection against numerous pathological conditions.
According to several preclinical studies, CBD is beneficial against Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and multiple sclerosis. Huntington's disease and cerebral ischemia were also tested, but no significant positive results were found. In order to confirm CBD's benefits as a treatment for these disorders, additional clinical studies are needed.
